Background-
Dallas-based technology company Worlds has appointed technology executive and former U.S. government official Dilawar Syed as a strategic advisor to support the expansion of its Operational platform across industrial sectors.
Syed will support Worlds’ leadership team in developing enterprise strategies, building partnerships and strengthening the company’s presence in the growing Operational AI market.
The appointment comes as manufacturers, logistics firms and industrial businesses increasingly explore AI solutions to improve real-time decision-making and operational efficiency.
Worlds’ platform helps companies connect data from cameras, sensors and operational technology systems with enterprise software. The technology creates a unified view of physical operations, allowing businesses to monitor activities, identify risks and improve workplace safety and productivity.
Chris Rohde, co-founder and president of Worlds, said Syed’s experience across technology, business growth and public policy will help the company expand its role in the enterprise AI sector.
Syed brings more than 20 years of experience in technology leadership and business development. He previously served as president of Freshworks, where he helped grow its North American operations before the company’s 2021 initial public offering. He also led healthcare AI company Lumiata as its chief executive officer.
His public service experience includes serving as the U.S. Department of State’s Special Representative for Commercial and Business Affairs, where he worked on initiatives supporting American companies across technology, energy, defence and infrastructure sectors. He later served as Deputy Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Syed said Operational AI will play an important role in helping businesses manage complex physical systems. He added that Worlds’ technology can help enterprises improve safety, strengthen operations and build more resilient businesses.
